A sole is provided with ledges having eyelets for passing through a strip, belt or hook that holds the foot and footwear of a worker. A front piece of the footwear is provided on the ledges with eyelets. A reinforcement is provided on each of the sole and the front piece. The front piece is preferably made from a metallic stamped plate having ribbings or undulations and covered with polyurethane or the covering of the footwear. The reinforcement of the front piece can be adhered to the reinforcement of the sole and then covered with the covering.
