Global electronic trading system

This system facilitates trading two items (L, Q) from the group of items comprising commodities and financial instruments. There are at least two agents (2) wanting to trade the items (L, Q) and a trading channel (3) between each pair of agents (2) allowing for the execution of trades. There are flow limits on the traded items and on any underlying instruments to be exchanged upon settlement of the traded items. A central computer (1) is coupled to the at least two agents (2).
