A method of processing and packaging deer velvet involves providing a velvet antler tine, slicing the tine into a number of pieces, arranging the pieces to lie in a mutually overlapping arrangement substantially in the outline of the original velvet antler tine and packaging the tine with a cover over the pieces to hold them together. The tine may be vacuum packed.
