<p>The invention relates to a process for cold manufacturing of stub nails, consisting in passivating a round-section wire-type blank (S) in a mechanic passivator, the blank (S) being then passed through a calibrated orifice having a section of 5.3 mm and afterwards wound as bales, by using a drum, the bales being stored on an unwinding device, during the next stage there taking place a plastic deformation of the blank (S) by pressing it between the wedge grips (1) of a nail making machine (2) where the stub nail head (b) is formed by using a punch (3) having a rectilinear motion, the blank being then cut at the desired length by two tools (4), the resulting parts (S1) being, during the next stage, subjected to a cold drop-forging operation, a plastic pressure-deformation taking place by using an eccentric press of 40-60 tf on whose punch there is mounted an open die (5) having the shape and size of the stub nail rod, the next stage consisting in trimming the stub nail and cutting off the excess material (c) with a clipping tool (6) mounted on an eccentric press of 20 tf, the resulting parts having the adequate shape and size, during the next stage, the resulting stub nails being subject to a heat treatment by being introduced into a roller-hearth heat treatment furnace (7) where they are heated at a temperature of 600...650 C for two hours, followed by a slow cooling, by 20-40 C/H, down to a temperature of 100-150 C and then by cooling in still air, finally there taking place the stage of removing the iron oxides resulting from the treatment.</p> |
