A buckle mechanism for the seat belt of a child's safety seat includes a main guide body of plates 110, 120 that form slots into which the tongues 140 of the shoulder straps are inserted and a latch 130 that is mounted to the main body by pin 180 and pivots to latch the tongues in the clasped position. An actuator button 150 to operate the latch is provided. The webbing 105 for the crotch portion of the belt is secured around the pin 180 so that the force transmitted through the buckle from the shoulder straps 105 to the crotch strap 105 is transmitted only through the tongues 140, the latch 130 and the pin 180, and not through some other parts of the frame of the buckle. |
