A door jamb installation tool having an elongate support in the form of a substantially rectangular frame; a force adjuster means comprising a handle and a threaded bolt fixed to the elongate support; contact means in the form of a fixed or moveable arm secured to a side part of the elongate support substantially opposite the force adjuster means, the arm formed to extend inwards with respect to the elongate support by a distance of approximately 10 mm for effectively spacing wall cladding when the tool is in use; the tool formed such that when it is in use a wall stud can be arranged between the force adjuster means and the arm and the method of using such an installation tool.
