A method of preparing a pre-distorted advertising image on an event surface for subsequent televising, consisting of projecting an undistorted image on to the event surface, upon which the image becomes distorted due to the perspective error resulting from the projection angle. The projector is sited at substantially the same point from which a television camera will televise the event. Whilst the distorted image is being projected, at least the outline of the image is marked out on the event surface for later completion, or the entire image may be completed during projection. Subsequent televising of the event from the projection point will show an undistorted image.
