A plug valve is provided to improve the lift span and reduce the repair cost by reducing the contact surface between the body and the plug according to the polishing process. A plug valve comprises a body(110) installed with an inlet(111) and an outlet(112), formed with a path inside, and vertically penetrated by shaft holes(113,113'); and a cylindrical plug(120) combined through the shaft holes to be interlocked by the drive of an actuator(10) mounted at the upper side of the body and to open/close the path; a first closed projection vertically projected at both side walls of one side of the inlet and outlet of the cylindrical plug chamber formed in the body mounted with the plug; a first contact projection(118) projected toward the inside of the body at the edge of the shaft hole and protruded with at least one at both side walls of the opposite side of the first closed projection; a closed plate(122) forming a part of the outer peripheral surface of the plug, wherein a second closed projection projected/extended along the vertical and longitudinal direction at both sides of the outer surface of the arc-shape is corresponded to the first closed projection; and a pair of contact plates(124) separated at the opposed position with the closed plate to form the part of the outer peripheral surface of the plug and mounted with a second contact projection(128) corresponding to the first contact projection.
