Proliferation and delivery apparatus for cells, tissue and/or micro-organisms

A portable, disposable, unitary microorganism proliferation and delivery apparatus (10) comprises an anaerobic proliferation chamber (12) for containing a growth medium (14); an anaerobic inoculation chamber (16) for containing an inoculum (18) and a separating means. The separating means is openable to connect the inside of the chambers to each other without comprising the anaerobiosis of the inside of the chambers to inoculate the growth medium with the inoculum to allow preservation of cell, tissue and/or microorganisms under anaerobic and aseptic conditions. This separating means can be in the form of a septum (22) provided with an opening means in the form of a spike (24) which is mounted in the passage (20) directed at the septum (22). Te inoculum is in a form which is stable and viable beyond the normal life-span of a conventional culture in a closed container.
