The device has a frame (3) with a seat (25) and a support surface (6) at two ends. A bar (22) extends from the surface up to an intermediate point of length of the part of the frame opposite to the surface. The seat is fixed on the bar to allow a user to sit. The frame has a gutter (8) to receive the chain of a chainsaw and a plate (10) to support the chainsaw. A platform (28) has retainers (41, 42) for blocking the heels of the user.
