<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for predicting the wear of a molten iron trough with which the worn state of the molten iron trough can be specified at high precision. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of optical fiber thermometers are set in the longitudinal direction of at least both side surfaces and bottom surface of the molten iron trough and the temperatures are measured at real time with the plurality of optical fiber thermometers. Then, based on the measured results, the time series variation of the temperature distribution in the longitudinal direction of the molten iron trough and the time series variation of the temperature distribution in the cross sectional surface of the molten iron trough, are calculated, and thus, deviation of the temperature distribution in the longitudinal direction and deviation of the temperature distribution in the cross sectional surface thereof, are distinguished. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
