PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic relay regulating excessive separation of a movable contact point from a fixed contact point by making the movable contact point abut on a protruded part 20 arranged on a contact cover 8, of which a sound generated when the movable contact point abuts on the protruded part 20 is reduced without delaying the separation of the movable contact point from the fixed contact point. SOLUTION: A concave part 26 is formed on a second contact face 25 on which a first contact face of the movable contact point abuts. By the above, when the first contact face comes close to the second contact face 25, an air compression at the concave part 26 is proceeded after the air compression at a space between the first contact face and the second contact face excluding the concave part 26, accordingly, repulsing force of the air compression is additionally increased. As a result, the sound of contacting can be reduced by reducing the moving speed of the movable contact point increased when the movable contact point abuts on the protruded part, only by the repulsing force at the concave part 26 even if the repulsing force generated at a part excluding the concave part 26 is not increased. As a result, as it becomes unnecessary to make a contact chamber airtight, it also becomes possible to quickly separate the movable contact point from the fixed contact point.
