PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ventilator capable of performing natural ventilation and compulsive ventilation at needed, capable of rapidly responding to the wind blowing outside a building and opening and closing a passage during mainly performing natural ventilation, and capable of sufficiently meeting the request of saving energy. SOLUTION: In this ventilator 1, when airflow velocity detected by a detection means 125 is equal to or lower than a predetermined value, a control means 23 operates a passage opening and closing electric motor 85, a partition member 17 opens a second passage 13, a closing member 42 closes a first passage 6, a vane member electric motor 81 is operated, and a vane member 75 is rotated. After predetermined time passes, turning of the vane member 75 is stopped, the passage opening and closing electric motor 85 is operated, the partition member 17 closes the second passage 13, and the closing member 42 opens the first passage 6.
