PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoresis display device which is improved in moisture resistance and reliability and superior in display performance, and to provide a highly reliable electronic apparatus which is equipped with the electrophoresis display device. SOLUTION: The electrophoresis display device 20 has a primary device body 19 displaying images and is constituted by packaging the primary device body 19 with a sheet material (protection layer) 8 which has water vapor impermeability such that water vapor can be prevented from entering the primary device body 19. Here, the primary device body 19 has a transparent substrate (1st substrate) 1 with a 1st electrode, a counter substrate (2nd substrate) 2 with a 2nd electrode 4, and a plurality of microcapsules 40 sandwiched between the 1st electrode 3 and 2nd electrode 4.
