PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a casting having good quality by preventing the segregation when Mg alloy etc., containing additional element having large difference of specific gravities is cast. SOLUTION: A mold 1 holding molten metal is rotated for a prescribed time, in a fixed direction with a rotating device 7 using a vertical shaft as the rotating axis while solidifying the molten metal, and after reaching for the prescribed time, the mold 1 is rotated for a prescribed time in the reverse direction to the above rotating direction, and the rotations at the normal and the reverse directions are repeated to solidify the molten metal. The temperature distribution of the molten metal in the mold can be uniformed by giving the oscillation to this molten metal and stirring without ruffling the molten metal surface. The metallic material in which has a fine homogeneous structure while a segregated materials decreases as much as possible and excellent in the ductility and strength can be obtained.
