PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device capable of giving the user a sufficient time for aligning the paper sheets placed on a tray in the standby condition for the feed of sheets even without provision of a button for instructing a start of sheets. SOLUTION: The printing device 10 is structured so that in the sheet standby condition (Yes at S101), sheet(s) is placed on a hand feed tray 10b (Yes at S102), and upon awaiting elapse of a prescribed time (S103 and S104), the sheet is taken out of the tray 10b to a sheet feeding mechanism 13 (S105).
