PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a sufficient traveling distance of an elevator body in a shaft. SOLUTION: A guide rail oiling device of an elevator is equipped with a guide rail 3 installed upright in the shaft, the elevator body consisting of an elevator car or a balance weight which travels in the shaft along the guide rail, and a guide device furnished at one end with a base part 8 fixed to the top surface of the elevator body and at the other end with a guide part 10 having an engagement part to engage with the guide rail, wherein the arrangement further includes a pair of oil supply chambers 21a and 21b formed so that the dimension in vertical direction is smaller than the dimension in vertical direction of the guide device and provided on the mutually confronting side faces of the guide part 10 and a pair of oil leading mechanisms 23a and 23b to lead the lubricating oil stored in the oil supply chambers to between the engagement part and the guide rail 3.
