<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce fluctuations in conveyance speed and degradation in image quality without changing, in real time, parameters relating to the conveyance of a recording medium by a belt unit. <P>SOLUTION: A conveying belt 56 is given such a degree of stretchability that a variation component included in a drive speed transmitted from a drive roller 52 to a follower roller 54 is smaller than a variation component at the time when at least the drive force of the drive roller 52 is transmitted to the conveying belt 56. Therefore, even in case where a variation component is included in the drive speed transmitted from the drive roller 52 to the follower roller 54, resulting from a change in the thickness component of the conveying belt 56, the variation component is reduced by the time when the drive force is transmitted to the follower roller 54. Accordingly, fluctuations in conveyance speed at which recording paper p is conveyed by the belt unit 50 can be reduced without exerting, in real time, control to offset the variation component of the drive speed by a drive motor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
