PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shield machine which enables a cutter bit to be safely replaced with ease, and which shortens time for replacing the cutter bit. SOLUTION: A cutter spoke 8 is split into two parts (split cutter spokes 8a and 8b) with a predetermined length in a longitudinal direction (the radial direction of a face disc 3); the split parts are each slidably arranged in the longitudinal direction; and a split-spoke storage chamber 10 for housing each of the split cutter spokes 8a and 8b in the state of isolating it from the outside is formed in the central part of the face disc 3 (a front end surface).
