PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of immediately recovering delay in transfer of display image information projected onto an imaging device to a display device, even if such delay occurs, and preventing omission of display, disturbance of display, or delay in display, etc. SOLUTION: Image information read out from the CCD 2 is stored in an internal memory 12 via a DMA transfer portion 10. After that, a luminance color-difference signal is generated, resolution is converted, displaying data are transferred to a display controller 15, and are displayed on a display device 16. Whether the transfer of the displaying data to the display controller 15 is normal or delayed is judged by a completion signal of the resolution conversion and a vertical synchronizing signal for display.
