PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for monitoring the periphery of a vehicle which displays a video of the periphery of a vehicle on a display and enables a driver to know the limit for moving the vehicle when parking. SOLUTION: The periphery of a vehicle are photographed by a camera device installed in a door mirror, and the right and left videos are synthesized into one image, and displayed on a display by overlapping a mark. The mark is configured of first and second backward and forward marks 30 and 31, a horizontal mark 32 and an orbit mark 33 by image-converting a line in parallel with a vehicle backward and forward direction passing the top end position of the door mirror, a line in parallel with the vehicle backward and forward direction passing the door top end when the door is full opened, a line in parallel with the vehicle horizontal direction passing the neighborhood of the front end of the vehicle and a line showing the predicted passage orbit of the rear wheel inside the rotation of the vehicle when steering into the same point of view as that of the video. Then, the vehicle is moved by using those marks as an index on a display 16 so that any peripheral wall or obstacle or the like can be prevented from entering from the mark to the vehicle side.
