PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method for a silver halide color photosensitive material excellent in white background stability and excellent also in processing stability in continuous processing. SOLUTION: In the processing method for the silver halide color photosensitive material, the silver halide color photosensitive material having on a support a yellow developing photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer, a magenta developing photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer and a cyan developing photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer is processed by a process comprising at least a color developing step, a blix step and a washing step or a stabilizing step, wherein at least one of the photosensitive silver halide emulsion layers contains a compound represented by formula [I] and a color developer used in the color developing step contains a compound whose logP to water is 0.9-1.5 (other than benzyl alcohol).
