PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator cage capable of facilitating constitution of and/or the dimensional design of a handrail device installed on the side plate of the body of the cage, attaching the handrail device easily at the site to the side plate of the cage body, and of removing the handrail device freely when a truck door on the back face plate of the cage body is opened or when an operation board installed on the inner side face of the cage body is inspected. SOLUTION: The elevator cage is equipped with the body and the handrail device 20 installed on the side plate 12 of the cage body. The handrail device 20 has a mounting base board 21 mounted on the side plate 12, a handrail support 22 installed on the base board 21 in such an arrangement that one end 22a is mounted removably, and a rod-shaped handrail body 23 arranged along the side plate 12.
