PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode linear motion type position controller capable of rapidly and precisely controlling a position of an electrode, thereby improving a working speed, and securing a processing quality. SOLUTION: A linear motion type position controller 7 is set between a spindle 5 in the Z-axial direction and an electrode holder 52 of a discharge processing facility. Then, direct lifting of the electrode holder 52 and an electrode 53 is performed under a circumstance in which the position of the spindle 5 does not move, and a lifting distance (position) of the electrode 53 is stationally localized. Also, the linear motion type position controller 7 comprises an upper fixation table 71, a guide intermediate table 72, a plurality of movable columns 73, a servo 74, a servo support table 75, a pressing plate 76, a plurality of spacers 77, a lower fixation table 78, a dust-proof fixation ring 783, an O-shaped ring 784, and a plurality of springs 786 and a plurality of connection screws 791, 792, 793, and 794.
