A pilot control (1) and transductor (4) produce a signal (delta) which moves a control surface (8) through a calculator (6) and actuator (7). The transductor signals are filtered (10) to exclude those outside 0.3-0.6 Hz, then selectively sampled and subjected to Fourier analysis (11). The two leading Fourier coefficients are used with the number of samples to find an index which is compared to a fraction of the maximum transductor signal An Independent claim is also included for : Equipment able to sample the signals, make a Fourier analysis, calculate an index, compare the index to a fraction of the maximum signal and determine if pilot induced oscillations are present |
