PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus predicting an image quality correction or a failure by carrying out the comprehensive analysis of an evaluation value which is correlated with an image quality factor regarding the cause of an image deterioration.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 201 makes an image measuring part 220 measure at least the shape for an image pattern formed at least on one of a photoreceptor or an intermediate transfer body by an image forming part 210, and also makes an image quality calculation part 230 predict the quality of an outputted image on the basis of the measurement of the image pattern by the image measuring part 220. History information of the image quality prediction by the image calculating part 230 is stored by a history storing part 250 and the failure is predicted by a failure predicting part 240 using the history information stored by the history storing part 250.
