<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a control method for enabling sub-harmonic modulation to be conducted, for example, and to lower the DC voltage for use, in the control of a induction motor by a 5-leg inverter. <P>SOLUTION: This control device 10 comprises a phase-voltage command value conversion means 14 and a switching pattern determination means 16. The phase-voltage command value conversion means 14 inputs phase-voltage command values of the induction motors IM1, IM2, and converts the phase-voltage command values so that the phase-voltage command value at a leg 125 becomes zero.
