PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact image forming apparatus which outputs a stable image having high resolution without producing an abnormal image when the apparatus is repeatedly used at a high speed. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes at least an electrostatic charging means of a contact system, an exposure means having resolution of≥600 dpi, a developing means, a transfer means and electrophotographic photoreceptor, in which the film thickness electric field intensity per unit applied from the electrostatic charging means to the photoreceptor, i.e. the electric field intensity (V/μm)=the unexposed part surface potential (V) in the present position/the photosensitive layer film thickness (μm) is 30(V/μm), and the electrophotographic photoreceptor is constituted by successively laminating at least a charge blocking layer, a moire preventive layer, a photosensitive layer, and a protective layer on a conductive support. The protective layer is formed by curing at least a tri-functional or higher radical polymerizable monomer not having a charge transferable structure and a radical polymerizable compound having a monofunctional charge transferable structure.
