PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner in which the features of an optical scanner itsefl can be measured and positional adjustment of optical components such as a scanner motor is facilitated while suppressing vibration of the optical components and the entire optical scanner. SOLUTION: The optical scanner which can be attached removably to an image forming apparatus F comprises a member 30 being coupled with a housing 20 for holding optical components 1 and 2 and enhancing the rigidity of a body C coupled with the housing 20 as compared with the rigidity of the housing itself.
