PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interference type optical signal processor which is small-sized and provides a high extinction ratio. SOLUTION: Disclosed is an interference type optical integrated circuit 1 in which absorption variation accompanies a phase shift of an interferometer. The light branching ratio of an input-side optical coupler 2 provided in front of an MZ section 3 is so set that light output to an output-side optical coupler 4 provided behind the MZ section 3 becomes nearly equal, and the interference type optical integrated circuit 1 is equipped with an extinction ratio improving element 5 which is provided behind the output-side optical coupler 4 and shapes light input from the output-side coupler 4 into a binary digital waveform corresponding to the light input so as to generate light output.
