PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of reducing color shift at a low cost. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus provided with a plurality of image carriers, a resin film-like intermediate transfer belt 200 stretched around a plurality of rollers and a drive roller 211 having both of a function for driving the intermediate transfer belt 200 by one of the plurality of rollers and a function which is an opposite part to a secondary transfer roller, the drive roller 211 is made of metal, and when primary transfer is performed at least in the image carriers, a bias is applied at least to a secondary transfer part. Since the metallic drive roller 211 and the intermediate transfer belt 200 are sucked to each other also electrostatically and a margin for slip can be improved, color shift can be reduced at a low cost.
