PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method using a heat developable photosensitive material which exhibits low fogging and excellent storage stability. SOLUTION: In the image forming method using the heat developable photosensitive material having an image forming layer on both sides of a support, the image forming layer contains at least a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent represented by formula (I), a coupler and a binder, wherein R<SB>1</SB>-R<SB>4</SB>each independently represent H or a substituent; R<SB>5</SB>and R<SB>6</SB>each independently represent alkyl, aryl, a heterocyclic group, acyl or sulfonyl; and R<SB>7</SB>represents R<SB>11</SB>-O-CO-, R<SB>12</SB>-CO-CO-, R<SB>13</SB>-NH-CO-, R<SB>14</SB>-SO<SB>2</SB>-, R<SB>15</SB>-W-C(R<SB>16</SB>)(R<SB>17</SB>)-, R<SB>19</SB>-SO<SB>2</SB>NHCO-, R<SB>20</SB>-CONHCO-, R<SB>21</SB>-SO<SB>2</SB>NHSO<SB>2</SB>-, R<SB>22</SB>-CONHSO<SB>2</SB>- or (M)<SB>1/n</SB>OSO<SB>2</SB>-.
