PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wide angle imaging lens capable of achieving excellent optical performance while achieving further cost reduction, small-sized formation, and light-weighted formation. SOLUTION: The wide angle imaging lens is provided and includes, in order from an object side, a negative meniscus lens L1 having a convex surface on the object side, a negative lens L2 having a concave surface on an image side and constituting at least one of both surfaces by an aspheerical surface, a positive lens L3 having a convex surface on the object side and constituting at least one of both surfaces by an aspherical surface, and a lens L4 having a convex surface on the image side and constituting at least one of both surfaces by an aspherical surface. Further, Abbe numbers of the respective lenses L1-L4 with respect to d line are set to be equal to or larger than 40, equal to or larger than 50, equal to or smaller than 40 and equal to or larger than 50, respectively, and an aperture diaphragm 50 is arranged between the lenses L3 and L4. The wide angle imaging lens satisfies a conditional equation 0.10<f/D<0.22, wherein f represents a focal length of the entire system and D represents a distance from a surface on the object side of the lens L1 to a surface on the image side of the lens L4.
