PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device to prevent accidental heating of an empty bathtub having a high degree of freedom in installation for specifying a water level in a bathtub without the need for a pressure detecting part. SOLUTION: The safety device to prevent accidental heating of an empty bathtub comprises a wireless IC tag 13 and a wireless IC tag reader 12. From the fact that the wireless IC tag 13 is immersed in water to cause the cut-off of electric waves to disable communication, it detects that the wireless IC tag 13 is immersed in water and specifies a water level in the bathtub.
