PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle door structure which minimizes a maximum projective distance of a door from a chassis when the door is opened. SOLUTION: According to the vehicle door structure 10 when the rear door 22 is opened, the rear door 22 is slid along the chassis 14 and thereafter rotated with respect to the chassis 14 by a lower-side hinge arm 38, and at the same time the rear door 22 is rotated with respect to the chassis 14 by an upper-side hinge arm 28. Herein when the rear door 22 is opened, the lower-side hinge arm 38 and the upper-side hinge arm 28 function to always connect the chassis 14 and the rear door 22 together, and the hinge arms are not separated from the chassis 14 and the rear door 22. Therefore the maximum projective distance of the rear door 22 from the chassis 14 when the rear door 22 is opened, can be minimized. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
