PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform high-definition image formation without color shift and color change by combining a device capable of varying a light axis in the subscanning direction and a device capable of varying an image forming position and operating them in association with each other. SOLUTION: Beams from each light emission point of a semiconductor laser array 301 are made incident on a cylinder lens 113 after passing through a liquid micro lens 302, a coupling lens 303 and converged on a deflecting surface 106 of a polygon mirror. Each beam reflected on the polygon mirror is made incident on an fθlens 120, crossed in the vicinity of a toroidal lens 122 again and imaged so as to be predetermined pitch on the photoreceptor drum face.
