PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the picture quality of an 1F inverse drive type active matrix display apparatus. SOLUTION: The active matrix display apparatus is provided with: image display elements 15 arrayed like a matrix; a horizontal driver circuit 13 for scanning the image display elements in a column direction and supplying image data to pixel lines connected in the column direction; vertical driver circuits 11, 12 for scanning the image display elements in a row direction; and a precharge driver circuit 14 for supplying a uniformity signal having prescribed potential through the pixel lines before the signal display period of the image data. Since the precharge driver supplies the uniformity signal to the pixel lines for a prescribed period, vertical crosstalk and shading are improved and thereby the picture quality is improved.
