PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element which is manufactured by a liquid crystal dripping method, and has high reliability and superior image display quality. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display element is constituted by arranging a couple of transparent substrates at a fixed interval opposite each other across a sealing material formed closely enclosing their outer peripheries, and charging a liquid crystal material in the space formed of the transparent substrates and sealing material. The sealing material formed closely enclosing the outer peripheries has multiple structures having at least an inner frame and an outer frame; and the sealing material forming the inner frame is made of a liquid-crystal non-contaminative sealing material and the sealing material forming the outer frame is made of a sealing material capable of holding adhesion between the substrates.
