PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dissolution-resistant pigment of a colored, glossy glass flake which, without damaging a pearly feel, makes a useful coloring agent for cosmetics or in the field of painting demanding nontoxicity to the human body, and to provide cosmetics incorporating the pigment. SOLUTION: There is coated on the surface of glossy glass flake particles a hydrotalcite type, layered double hydroxide that contains coloring matter anions between the layers of the crystal structure.
