A pen is provided which has a generally tapered body shape extending from an open end to an apex end incorporating a nib (107). The pen can be arranged in a stack by entry of one pen into another. The pens are designed for general disposability and so are typically formed from a plastics material having a thin wall in association with the tapered arc nature of the pen of sufficient strength to allow gripping for a writing procedure. A nib of the pens includes sufficient ink or a pencil element to allow only short term use.
