The method for producing a package for flat objects (2), e.g. CD's, CD-ROM's DVD', books, notebooks and flat sample books, uses a carton made up of two sections (3, 4). A line of quick-setting hot melt adhesive (13) is then applied to the bottom section of the carton, after which the top section is folded over the object and pressed on to the adhesive on the bottom section. An independent claim is included for a machine for carrying out the method.
