Alkylation of triphenylphosphate comprises, reacting triphenylphosphate with an olefin in the presence of a solid acid catalyst, such as zeolite, heteropoly acid or its salt, metal triflate, non-aryl group containing metal sulfonic acid, metalhalogenide-Lewis acid or compatible mixture of the catalysts.
