APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR INPUT/OUTPUT USING VOICE RECOGNITION

An I/O(Input/Output) device using voice recognition and a method thereof are provided to improve a user interface by enabling a user to perform pointing input and command execution according to a voice command of the user without using any pointing input device like a mouse and a touch pad. A voice recognizer(10) recognizes the external voice command. A pointing controller(20) calculates a screen pointing position corresponding to a voice recognition result received from the voice recognizer. A screen display unit(30) displays a screen. A command controller(40) processes various kinds of commands related to a current pointing position. The command controller processes an event command for click, double click, and scrolling, and processes an execution command for controlling an application program and setting a system.
