Provided are a reproduction device and a reproduction method, which are enabled to easily handle a contents file recorded in a disk and an update fi le recorded in a local storage. Further provided are a program and a program storage medium, a data distribution system, a data structure, and a method f or manufacturing a recording medium. On the basis of both a path name designate d with an src_file_name field of a Manifest () section and a path name designated with a dst_file_name field, the downloaded data can be so handled that the files are different between the path name and file name in the loca l storage and the path name and file name in a virtual file system.
