<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium which can ensure the secure recording/regenerative process of data, even when a blue or bluish purple laser light is used as an irradiation light. <P>SOLUTION: This optical recording medium 10 is made up of a base 12 and a recording layer 18 which is formed on the base 12 and has optical characteristics to be changed by irradiation with a laser light. The recording layer 18 contains Bi and O, and the sum value of an atomic number of Bi and O of the recording layer 18 to the total number of constituent atoms of the recording layer 18, is not less than 80% and besides, the ratio of the atomic number of O of the recording layer 18 is not less than 63%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
