<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent lowering of print efficiency by preventing occurrence of hot offset of a sheet for fixing, which is caused by a large temperature difference between the center part and the end part of a fixing area. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes; a sheet size discrimination means C4 for discriminating a sheet size; a heating heater H having a heater h1 for small-sized sheets and a heater h2 for large-sized sheets; a fixing area temperature sensor SN+SN2 having a center part temperature sensor SN1 for detecting a temperature corresponding to the center part temperature T1 of a fixing area Q5 and an end part temperature sensor SN2 for detecting a temperature corresponding to the end part temperature T2; and a heater control means C3E having a job mode heater control means C3E1 for controlling on/off of the heating heater H in a job mode and a standby mode heater control means C3E2 for controlling on/off of the heating heater H in a standby mode for a prescribed period of time after the end of a job. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
