<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent convenience for a user from being impaired in a device (printer) for periodic ON/OFF-control of electric power supply, even with respect to the power supply to a network I/F part, in order to save energy further in an energy saving mode. <P>SOLUTION: In this printing system, a plurality of printers is connected to at least one or more of host devices through a network, the printing system is provided with a means for selecting the optional printer by the host device, and for carrying out printing processing by the printer, and a means for turning on and off the power supply to the I/F part, as an energy-saving means for restraining the electric power consumption, in the printer, and the printing system is provided further with a means for notifying the ON/OFF timing of supplying electric power from the host device to the I/F part of the printer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
