PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dye-sensitized solar cell element which does not cause a damage to the surface of a base by the contact of opposing electrode bases. SOLUTION: In the dye-sensitized solar cell element, a semiconductor electrode base having a semiconductor layer modified with a colorant on a conductive substrate having an optical transparency and a catalytic electrode base having a catalytic layer on a conductive base, are arranged oppositely at a predetermined spacing on the conductive substrate, the fringes between these bases are sealed by a seal material, the cell is formed, and an electrolyte is arranged in the cell. Further, a bus bar layer is arranged to a part on the conductive substrate having the optical transparency, and a protective layer is arranged which covers the bus bar layer.
