<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a different color light with a simple method in a projection device using a single chip. <P>SOLUTION: The improved single light valve projection device includes a metal halide lamp (2) driven by direct current (DC), a relay optical system (8) structured by an optical assembly, a single light valve element (10), a rotating color wheel (11) containing at least two different color filters arranged between the metal halide lamp and the relay optical system, a means to achieve current boost passing through the metal halide lamp at regular time intervals, and a means (12) synchronizing a rotating speed of the color wheel with a sequence forming different color components by the light bulb element to match a passage of a specific color filter between the metal halide lamp and the relay optical system with a projection of a corresponding image component by the boost of current passing the metal halide lamp and the light valve element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
