PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein every person is confused in determining which number he/she intends to use when there are a plurality of passwords, although the remembered passwords are inputted in order from the first by a message for prompting input in a conventional authentication device. SOLUTION: If a number or a character, a symbol, and an image which are a part of information set in advance on a display screen of a password inputting device are presented, they become hints to allow the person to determine remaining information immediately, input the password accurately, and prove the person's identity. Although the number or the character, the symbol, and the image which are a part of information set in advance on the display screen of the password inputting device are clearly presented as hints, remaining inputted information is written by turned letters to prevent other persons from knowing a series of passwords even if the persons peep.
